Kochi : With the start of summer vacation, children can now enjoy a wide variety of camp activities. These camps present students with opportunities to learn, enjoy and develop new skills. From intensive sports training to creative arts and nature-based experiences, the city's summer camp scene is buzzing with numerous activities.

The camp at Regional Sports Centre, Kadavanthra, features an impressive lineup of 28 sports disciplines, including badminton, basketball and cricket. It also includes activities like fencing, shooting and scuba diving. In addition to sports, participants can also engage in workshops on dance, STEM robotics, personality development and sculpture making.

For those who are interested in theatre, Lokadharmi Nadakaveedu, Vypeen, is offering an immersive workshop covering acting, stagecraft and improvisation. The programme also incorporates traditional and cultural elements, including yoga, puppetry, Kalari and Chavittu Nadakam. "Guided by experienced artists, the camp aims to nurture future performers while building confidence and discipline," said Chandradasan, the group's founder and artistic director.

The Model Finishing School in Kaloor, an initiative by the govt, is set to launch a 10-day summer camp from April 21. The programme focuses on AI-driven IoT, machine learning and robotics. It will help children to develop skills to participate in school science fairs and create innovative projects. Similarly, a summer camp for school students is also hosted by SinRobotics, a firm based in Palarivattom, for children in basic coding and robotics.

For nature lovers, Rewild at North Paravur offers a unique farm-based learning experience. The children can engage in nature-centric activities such as butterfly garden designing and could explore local ecosystems. The workshops offered at the centre allow participants to connect with nature and its wonders.

Meanwhile, Global Public School, Thiruvaniyoor, will host a summer camp from May 19 to May 31, providing training in athletics, basketball, football, cricket, volleyball, badminton and swimming.
