Udupi/Mangaluru: Sri Ram Navami, marking the birth of Lord Rama, was celebrated with religious fervor across Udupi and Mangaluru on Sunday.
In Udupi, various temples and bhajan mandirs observed the occasion with special rituals and devotional programs. At the Sri Krishna Matha, Ramayana Parayana and special pujas were conducted under the guidance of Sri Sugunendra Teertha Swamiji and Sri Sushreendra Teertha Swamiji of the Puttige Matha.
Devotees witnessed elaborate ceremonies including abhisheka (ritual bathing), alankara (decoration), cradle puja, and maha puja at several temples. Bhajan mandirs came alive with special devotional singing sessions throughout the day.
Meanwhile, in Mangaluru, temples across the city and its outskirts were adorned and lit up for the occasion. Celebrations were held at Bolar Sri Rama Mandir, Derebail Konchady Sri Rama Mandir, M.T. Road Sri Karanika Hanuman Temple, Urwa Chilimbi Shirdi Sai Baba Mandir, and other locations.
Thousands of devotees participated in the Sri Ram Navami Rathotsava, Prasanna Puja, and Maha Puja. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad also held the 24th annual Ramotsava at the Vishwashree Karyalaya in Kadri, which included a flag hoisting ceremony and Go Puja (cow worship).
The atmosphere across coastal Karnataka was filled with devotion and joyous celebration of Lord Rama’s birth.
