Ram Gopal Varma is facing legal issues in Andhra Pradesh after a police complaint was lodged against him. The complaint alleges that Varma made anti-Hindu comments on social media, specifically on platforms like Facebook and YouTube, which are said to have offended the Hindu community's religious sentiments.

Background of the Complaint

Meda Srinivas, president of the Rashtriya Praja Congress and a High Court advocate, lodged the complaint. He provided video clips and screenshots of Ram Gopal Varma's social media posts as evidence at the Three Town Police Station. Srinivas asserted that Varma's comments were both offensive and potentially disruptive to public harmony.

Srinivas' Statement

Talking to the press, Srinivas said, “Ram Gopal Varma’s barbaric remarks have caused immense hurt to Hindu sentiments. His content reflects a complete disregard for our religious values and traditions. It’s more than just opinion—it’s incitement, and that is unacceptable in any civil society. No public figure should be allowed to use their influence to spread hate and insult any religion. Legal action is necessary to set a precedent".

Police Response

Police officials have acknowledged receiving the complaint and are now reviewing the submitted material. According to a senior officer at the station, a preliminary inquiry is underway, and any necessary legal action will be determined based on the results of the investigation.

Ram Gopal Varma's Response

Ram Gopal Varma, known for his provocative approach and contentious opinions on politics and religion, has yet to address the allegations. His unapologetic and outspoken online presence has consistently sparked both praise and criticism, making him a central figure in public debates and controversies.
