Rajkot: A 32-year-old married woman has lodged a complaint of Malaviya Nagar police station, accusing a Raiya Road resident of raping her multiple times between in April last year.
The accused raped the woman under false promises of gifting her gold jewellery and a house between April 1, 2024 and April 23, 2024.
The woman met the accused who operated a tea stall and drove an auto-rickshaw. They exchanged phone numbers, and Bambhava allegedly professed his love for her. When she rejected his advances and asserted that she was a mother of two daughters, he allegedly threatened to expose her to her husband.
He then reportedly took her to the bus stand area in his auto-rickshaw, promising her jewellery and a flat. Later, he allegedly coerced her into a sexual relationship against her will. The woman claimed that he continued to threaten her and forced her to meet him multiple times at isolated locations and guest houses, where he sexually assaulted her.
The situation came to light when the woman's husband checked her mobile phone and confronted her about the accused. A confrontation between the husband and the accused ensued, during which the accused allegedly threatened to kill her.
