Kanpur: Shardul Khatri is set to face Shresth Shukla in the Boys Under-15 final of the second Cosco JMD district badminton championship, currently taking place at JMD school on Sunday. In the first semifinal, Shardul defeated Saurabh Maurya with a score of 21-4, 21-4. In the second semifinal, Shresth Shukla overcame Neel Gop Kumar by 21-19, 20-22, 21-8.
In the girls Under-15 age group, Aditi Katiyar advanced to the final by defeating Avani Gupta 21-16, 21-17.
In the Under-13 Boys category, Vidit Singhal beat Atharva Srivastava 21-18, 21-19 to reach the final. In the girls group, Aarna Dwivedi defeated Riyana Jain 21-18, 21-15 in the semifinal. Aarna will now meet Nitika Bhatia in the final, after Nitika received a walkover from Anika Sharma in the second semifinal.
In Boys Doubles, Kandarp Khatri and Shardul Khatri beat Sambhav Maheshwari and Vidit Singhal 21-6, 21-4.
For Under-11 Boys (semifinals), Aryaman Bharati defeated Raghav Chopra 30-10 and Tanmay Singh beat Vihan Singh 21-17, 21-15. In the girls matches, Aarn Dwivedi defeated Asmita 24-22, 21-11 and Atishi Vishwakarma beat Ishani Gangwar 21-15, 21-7.
Cricket umpiring & scoring exam: Six candidates have successfully cleared the cricket umpiring examination organised by the Kanpur Cricket Association recently. Honorary secretary KCA, Kaushal Kumar Singh stated that four candidates passed the scorers exam. Successful candidates are:
Scorer—Priyanshi Singh, Deepak Sachan, Arpit Pathak, Raj Kishore Verma
Umpire—Saurabh Jaiswal, Himanshu Yadav, Vishal Shukla, Sunil Kumar Nishad, Sunil Tripathi, Haseen Ahmad.
