Ahmedabad: A 33-year-old woman from the Naroda area of the city was allegedly assaulted on Friday by two women. She lodged a complaint with the Naroda police in this connection. According to the complainant, she was attacked and abused by the former wife of the person with whom the complainant was in a live-in relationship, and one more woman.

The complainant said that her partner divorced his wife four months ago. After giving divorce, he started living with the complainant along with his four-year-old son.

"At around 10pm on Friday, the complainant was at home with her sister when she heard someone outside her house abusing her. When she opened the door, her partner's former wife was standing with another woman, and the two started abusing her, pulling her by the hair and assaulting her. During the altercation, the former wife of her live-in partner tried to attack her with a sharp object, injuring her wrist and causing it to bleed," said a police official.

The complainant claimed that the ex-wife of her partner wanted to reunite with him.

"She screamed for help. In the meantime, her live-in partner returned home and intervened. As a crowd gathered, both the women left, threatening to kill the complainant if she continued to live with her partner," the police official said.

The complainant stated that she lost her gold chain in the attack.

Naroda police registered a complaint on Saturday under BNS section 333 (house-trespass after preparation for hurt, assault), 118(1) (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons), 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 351(3) (criminal intimidation), 324(4) (mischief causing loss or damage to property), and 54 (abettor present when offence is committed).
