Prayagraj: Fatehpur police on Tuesday claimed to have busted an inter-district robbers' gang and arrested its six members, including Arjun alias Katta, Eshu Soni, Karan Soni, Mohd Adam, Priyanshu alias Kalloo, and Nitin Yadav, all residents of Abu Nagar (Kotwali) and seized 1.53 kg of silver, 30 grams of gold raw material, three country-made pistols of 0.315 bore along with five cartridges, two bikes, steel rods, four mobiles, and Rs 7,540 cash from their possession.
Fatehpur police said that a joint team of Ghazipur police, the surveillance cell, and SOG, acting upon a specific tip-off, cordoned the area near Devlan road and managed to arrest all six robbers who allegedly looted a Ghazipur based jeweller on March 13 in the Ghazipur area.
Police said these robbers looted a trader in the Hussainganj area in first week of March. Police said that the arrested robbers are in the age group of 19-22 years, and they used to execute loot to lead a lavish lifestyle. Two of the arrested robbers had also worked at jewellery shops and were part of hatching a conspiracy to execute loots.
