Thought two-tier justice was bad? Now we have three-tier policing!

West Yorkshire has put a block on white recruits. Let that sink in for a minute - the police force with the second biggest crime rate in the country isn't employing white coppers because it wants more black and brown people in its ranks. And while WYP hasn't actually put a sign up in their police station windows saying "Whites not welcome here," they might as well. This is racism pure and simple. Imagine any British company saying "ethnic minorities need not apply." There'd quite rightly be uproar."

As there should be over this. One, because this is a Christian country where 82% of the population is white. Two, because this kind of racism is abhorrent in a country obsessed with diversity, equality and inclusion. Three, because I doubt very much whether it's even legal - one senior employment lawyer has already said it's positive discrimination, which is illegal here. But most importantly because these idiots in West Yorks (a force that's spent £1.4million on diversity hires in three years and learned nothing) still haven't realised that the public doesn't care about the colour of a copper's skin or his religion.

They just want him/her out there protecting them and solving crimes. How dare West Yorks police employ its racist THREE tier policing system. Let me explain that.

It has a gold, silver and bronze recruitment structure where those of black and Far East Asian heritage have a gold ranking, South East Asian have silver and "white others" including Irish and Eastern European backgrounds, are bronze.

Ethnic minority candidates are given months to apply for a job whereas white candidates are given as little as 48 hours.

WYP has defended its approach, stating postivie action "does not give [applicants from an ethnic minority background] an advantage in the application process."

But officers who've worked inside the recruitment department say the whole system is designed so that white people don't apply.

One whistleblower even claimed that during the summer of 2022, no ethnic minority candidate failed the interview process even though some failed physical tests and the vetting process which means sub-standard applicants were being recruited solely on the colour of their skin.

How safe must the people of West Yorks feel knowing bobbies and detectives who are supposed to protect them wouldn't have qualified for the job had they not been black or brown.

The Home Office needs to urgently find out who's responsible for this insidious policy - and sack them. WYP has already been rapped in an official report for not solving enough crimes, and now we can see why. And if this is their attitude to white police recruits, God help the white criminals in their area.

WYP's response excuse for this racist policy is that because 23% of people in West Yorks come from an ethnic minority background and only 9% of coppers are - they need to level the playing field.

What simplistic tosh. Are they seriously saying people only want coppers with the same skin colour as them looking out for them?

Skin colour doesn't come into - if a black person batters an old man, rapes a woman or robs someone - the skin colour of the arresting officer is irrelevant. A crime is a crime. And you don't need brown officers to police brown criminals. What you need are good, dedicated men and women who really want to be in the Force, not second rate applicants who're being let in thanks to preferential recruitment policies.

Hiring coppers should be about who the best person for the job is, not the colour of their skin. And vetting processes which exist to do that must not be bastardised by diversity, equality and inclusion zealots - even if WYP insists its positive action "does not" give ethnic minority candidates the advantage - although whistleblowers in the recruitment office says it does.

When forces all over Britain are woefully short of coppers, it's lunacy to ban recruits because they're white. And WYP has done that which says it's more interested in woke policies than public safety.

As former (black) Police and Crime Commissioner Festus Akinbusoye says: "If you want to encourage black people to play golf or tennis, you don't do it by stopping white people."

It's now time for the Home Secretary to end this racist policy. No employer should get away with discriminating against someone because of their skin colour, least of all a police force funded by taxpayers!
