
Nicola Peltz is reportedly set to be questioned in court after the death of her dog, Nala. The wife of rescue dog, who had been part of Nicola's family for nine years before her death, died younger than expected due to what she claimed to be "abuse from a groomer".
A judge has reportedly ordered the 30-year-old to appear in court for a deposition before October 30 after her former groomer denied any wrongdoing in her lawsuit. According to the court documents reportedly seen by InTouch, Nicola will also have to authorise the release of medical records, including the necropsy reports, related to her .
Last year, Nicola sued dog grooming company HoundSpa, the owner, Deborah Gittleman and groomer Jony Ceballos. The suit had alleged: "Nala went into the grooming van, a happy, healthy dog, but returned injured and in severe physical distress- breathing heavily and wheezing, with her chest pulsating. As poor Nala suffered, Nicola rushed her to the vet, a fifteen-minute drive away.
"The vet observed that Nala's tongue was blue, she had fluid in her lungs, and she suffered neurological damage. Nala was put on oxygen and cared for as Nicola distressingly and emotionally witnessed her dog suffer."
Nicola's lawyers also claimed: "Due to her injuries and severe condition, Nala tragically passed away a mere two hours after being in the van with the groomer," claiming that they had failed to "properly care for her". Houndspa and the owner of the dog groomers have denied all allegations.
