Harlan Coben, the best-selling thriller author, is the mastermind behind some of the most gripping TV dramas currently airing.

From The Stranger and Safe to Fool Me Once and Stay Close, this American writer has a collection of fast-paced shows available on Netflix, reports .

Currently, Coben's repertoire consists of 11 shows, including Fool Me Once, Missing You, The Stranger, Caught, Stay Close, Safe, The Innocent, Just One Look, The Woods, Hold Tight, and Gone For Good.

With a wealth of stories and a vast library of material at his disposal, Coben has numerous shows in the works for future release.

He has frequently collaborated with esteemed Emmy and BAFTA-winning screenwriter Danny Brocklehurst on several projects.

Coben also has a presence on Netflix's competitor, Prime Video, with shows like Shelter and the forthcoming Lazarus, featuring Sam Claflin, Alexandra Roach and Bill Nighy.

However, one of Coben's finest dramas, The Five, is notably absent from Netflix.

This 10-part drama marked the inaugural collaboration between Coben and Brocklehurst, with the crime novelist crafting a story exclusively for television.

The Five centres around a group of friends who reunite after their missing childhood friend's DNA is discovered at a murder scene.

Throughout the series, the friends Mark (Tom Cullen), Danny (O-T Fagbenle), Slade (Lee Ingleby), and Pru (Sarah Solemani) endeavour to unravel the mystery surrounding the disappearance of Mark's younger brother Jesse.

The Five boasts an ensemble cast including Death in Paradise's Don Warrington, Grantchester's own Tom Brittney, BAFTA laureate Naomi Ackie and Foyle's War's Honeysuckle Weeks.

True to Harlan Coben's style, the series is replete with surprising twists and a gratifying conclusion that leaves audiences content.

An enthusiastic fan commented on Rotten Tomatoes: "This show was so good! Captivating, thrilling, heartwarming, etc. I wish there was more than one season!"
