Emmerdale fans were left in stitches after a famous face strutted into the ITV Dales on Friday (October 3). Over the past few months, April Windsor (played by Amelia Flanagan) has been going through a complicated few months in the village after moving back home. In recent weeks, the youngster has teamed up with her drug-dealing little brother Leo and their dealer Ray Walters (Joe Absolom) in order to pay off his crippling debt.
Things took an unexpected turn last week after Leo was rushed to the hospital after consuming some ecstasy pills that fell out of her bag. While he is fighting for his life in the hospital, the troubled teen met with a social worker over the horrifying ordeal.
But it's fair to say his character certainly surprised viewers as he introduced himself to the family as "Gary Barlow". It didn't take long before viewers flooded to X - formerly known as Twitter - to share their surprise online.
One user penned: "LMAO NOT THE SOCIAL WORKER BEING CALLED GARY BARLOW [cry-laughing emoji]" as another agreed: "I will admit I reacted the exact same way as them to the Gary Barlow line [cry-laughing emoji]."
A third echoed: "Absolutely HOWLING at Gary Barlow wandering in [cry-laughing emoji]" as a fourth chimed in with: "Oh no, not another Gary Barlow. Hopefully this one can sing."
Meanwhile, a fifth quipped: "Hope this Gary Barlow character is Back For Good... sorry [cry-laughing emoji]" as a sixth confessed: "Gary Barlow being in tonight's episode wasn't the twist I was expecting."
Later on in the show, tensions rose between Rhona and April after she evesdropped on their conversation where the teen confessed to the social worker that she feels pressure to be perfect from her parents.

April soon sparked fears from fans online that she could become homeless again after she suggested moving out of the family home. Viewers got a glimpse at her phone when she received a text from Ray, who said he had found a place for her and Dylan to stay while she attempts to patch things up with Marlon and Rhona.
One user warned: "It's risky having Ray give April and Dylan a place, Celia could have them doing all sorts besides drugs." Another suggested: "Just send April to a naughty girls school and do us all a favour" as a third begged: "Can we pleae for the love of chocolate please stop the drug cartel and April and Dylan trying to act like grown ups."
Emmerdale airs on weekdays from 7.30pm on ITV1 or catch up on ITVX.
