Brit travels from Benidorm to another famous Spanish city and is blown away by the price

A Brit who lives in and visited another famous Spanish city revealed his shock at the difference in price for a meal, warning the country "isn't as cheap as you think". Harry, who goes by @harrytokky on the platform and shares his experiences of life in Spain, voiced surprise at the outlays he faced during a recent trip to on the Costa del Sol in a .

He was visiting Puerto Banús, a marina southwest of known for having high-end shops and restaurants, and wealthy residents. "In the last few days I've spent more money than I would probably spend in a whole month in ," he told his 33.7k followers, as reported by

"How crazy, honestly, living here, the prices are absolutely ridiculous for a meal in a restaurant."

He said a meal in a restaurant would cost visitors between 50 and 75 euros per head, but you could find a meal for two people for around 70 to 80 pounds.

"I went to a Chinese restaurant last night, and I spent nearly 150 euros", Harry said.

He added: "Don't get me wrong, it's absolutely brilliant, but on the other hand, I could be in Benidorm and I could eat like three different meals at a Chinese restaurant for the same money."

Parts of Spain have long been a haven for British expats due to the months of sun and cheaper prices, but Harry warned sunseekers: "Spain isn't as cheap as you think."

He acknowledged that the lifestyle in the exlusive spot is different to other parts of Spain and said despite the hefty outlay, "I've actually been here a few times, and I really, really like it."

A recent article by the founder of a luxury property portal that lists home in the Costa del Sol, says you can expect differences in terms of price between there and the Costa Blanca, where the likes of Alicante, Altea, Torrevieja, and Benidorm are located.

"As someone who loves Spain, I must admit that both costas have their unique charm," he wrote on the company's website. "They do, however, differ quite strongly in the 'lifestyle and amenities' category."

"The White Coast offers a good choice of essential amenities. You'll find plenty of restaurants, shops, and open-air activities like affordable golf courses.

"But, if you're looking for a more high-end, luxurious experience, you won't find the same variety as in the Costa del Sol," he added.
