Beyond Paradise viewers fume 'scary' episode will give them 'nightmares'

fans who tuned into the latest episode of complained that they will get "nightmares" after a masked saboteur begins terrorising civilians in Shipton Abbott. During the opening segment, a family business was terrorised by an unknown figure dressed up as the mythical 'Cornman.'

Humphrey and the team are baffled over the myth but realise that someone is impersonating the Cornman to scare away rival farmers and potentially put them out of business. With the farm's future at risk, DSI Humphrey attempts to unmask the saboteur before their livelihood is wiped out.

Viewers at home couldn't help but react to the episode's spooky theme. One person complained, "I think the 2 daughters are doing it. That Cornman is stuff of nightmares @BeyondPOfficial #BeyondParadise."

A second person also moaned, "This is meant to be a cosy crime drama, not scare us witless with corn men #BeyondParadise." A third person also chimed in, "That thing is giving scarecrows from Doctor Who! ."

A fourth also similarly said, "Nightmares, nightmares forever. #BeyondParadise."

Also during the episode, Humphrey and Martha continue to be Rosie's foster parents, who started her first day at her new school in Shipton Abbott.

In addition, the reappearance of Martha's old flame Archie presents an unexpected challenge, and Anne confronts painful memories following a health scare.

At the end of the episode, it was revealed that two characters, Stella and Mac, teamed up to force Stella's father to sell the farm, and Stella would get her share.

By dressing up as Cornmen and terrorising Stella's father, she virtually destroyed her own business in an attempt for him to sell up. However, DSI Humphrey was able to work this out and she was promptly arrested, along with her girlfriend Mac.

Beyond Paradise airs on BBC One at 8pm on Fridays.
