The Chase viewers were left furious after one contestant pleaded with their teammate to accept the lower offer following a crushing defeat.
During Wednesday's episode (September 17) on the ITV programme, host Bradley Walsh welcomed four fresh contestants to the popular teatime quiz show. He presented Shelia, Alex, Robbie, and Amanda to audiences before they tackled the general knowledge challenge.
This week, the foursome faced off against Shaun 'The Dark Destroyer' Wallace, who definitely brought his top form to proceedings. First to step up was Shelia, who secured a decent £2,000 during the cash-builder segment.
However, the former PE teacher couldn't maintain her earnings in the gripping head-to-head battle against the quiz expert and was eliminated. Alex was next to challenge the Mastermind winner, managing to double his previous teammate's cash-builder total.

Going into the individual round with £4,000 to his name, the digital marketer also met his match during the edge-of-your-seat encounter.
Robbie, an HR manager from Hampshire, hoped to end the losing streak. Like Alex, he too banked £4,000 in the cash-builder segment. However, matters took a surprising twist when he turned to discuss with his remaining teammate which sum to pursue in the head-to-head battle.
At this moment, Amanda "begged" the contestant to accept the modest offer of £1,000 in the individual round after watching two teammates fall in identical fashion.
She said: "Robbie, you are capable of the top, but please go low." As Brad chuckled in disbelief, she insisted: "I know [it sounds mean] but please, I need you back here, so any money is better than no money. So please, I’m begging."
It didn't take long before viewers flocked to X - formerly known as Twitter - to share their frustrations online. One user simply asked: "Seriously?" as another screamed: "Nooooooo." A third viewer jabbed: "Chick chick chick chicken. Hope to god you flipping lose."
A fourth fumed: "This is an absolute joke now! Why does the low offer even exist in the first place? The Chase has gone down the toilet."

It comes after Jenny Ryan gave away how much The Chase's Bradley Walsh makes on the ITV show. On a recent episode of Beat the Chasers, (Sunday 14 September), it shows the long-running host address the beloved quizzers, after one of the ITV stars recently touched on Mark Labbett's ego.
Sharing a stat, he commented: "Last series, we gave away £700,000." Despite the audience sounding visibly impressed, Bradley couldn't help but take a swipe at their losses.
The 65-year-old continued: "More to the point, when I say we gave away, I mean you lost £700,000. Now, what would you have done with that £700,000 had we not lost it. When I say we, I mean you."
Jenny was the first to respond to Bradley's question as she decided to put a different spin on his outlook. She replied: "I have to think about it positively rather than negatively. By catching contestants, the chaster saved the show £20 million. Or as ITV calls it, two-thirds of a Bradley."
Her fellow quizzers laughed at her remark, although Bradley ignored the probe and addressed Shaun Wallace instead.
