Roy Keane lifts lid on disagreement and why he's now avoiding two men in Ireland

Roy Keane has admitted he plans to steer clear of two supporters on his next visit to Cork City after being proven wrong. The Manchester United icon attended the League of Ireland clash between Cork and Sligo Rovers last month.

Keane witnessed Cork establish a 2-0 advantage before three second half goals resulted in a dramatic collapse for the hosts. Their fate was sealed by an 89th-minute winner from Sligo's Ryan O'Kane. However, it was a concerning incident during the first half that sparked Keane's disagreement with fans.

Cork's teenage talent Cathal O'Sullivan was taken off with an early injury, but legendary midfielder Keane cautioned supporters against making their own diagnosis.

"You know medical staff who watch football hate when pundits start talking about an injury of a player," Keane said in a behind-the-scenes video on .

"You know, you make a judgment, 'Oh, it looks bad.' But we're not medically qualified. We haven't treated the injury and we don't know what we're talking about.

"I was at a Cork City game a few weeks ago, a young City lad got injured. He went down after about 20 minutes, it looked strange.

"So I went in at half-time for a cup of tea. These lads I know, Cork City, and they were like, 'I think it's his cruciate.' And I went, 'Hold on a second lads, the two of you.'

"I kind of know them and I said, 'You don't know what you're talking about. You've already give him a cruciate. Have you treated it?' They went, 'Oh, no.' Are you qualified the two of you? 'No, no.'

"A couple days later, he's done his cruciate. I have to go back to Cork City, these two lads will be there. I'll have to avoid them!"

The Irish Mirror reported that O'Sullivan, 18, had been on the radar of several clubs, including Brentford, Crystal Palace and Celtic. However, he is set to be sidelined for several months after sustaining an ACL injury.

After their defeat to Sligo, Cork bounced back with a victory over Galway United and secured a draw against Derry City. Gerard Nash's team have also advanced in the FAI Cup following their triumph over Waterford, though they did suffer a 3-0 setback against Bohemians last Friday.

Keane never turned out for his hometown club during his playing days. He came through the youth system at Rockmount and featured for Cobh Ramblers before making the move to Nottingham Forest in 1990.

The 54-year-old did recently look back on his formative years during the after sharing a photograph of his family from his early time at Manchester United.

"You're on about photos, look at that there," Keane said about a picture of him with his parents, becoming visibly emotional. "You're on about family, the ups and downs of football. But when you see your family at Wembley after you've won a big game..."
