As fans wait with bated breath for who will take on the iconic role of James Bond in the upcoming instalment of the franchise, a new name has been thrown into the mix. The decision may seem to be taking forever to be announced, but it's led to another star being linked to the suave character.
Step forward, House of Guiness star Anthony Boyle. The actor has now slotted in as one of the frontrunners for the role, according to bookmakers.
The bookies at Ladbrokes sent the Belfast-born actor straight in at 10/1 in the odds, landing him as the fifth favourite to be the next 007. It comes as the star was named as the Netflix drama series's "secret weapon" and landed rave reviews for his performance.

However, he would still have to fend off the favourite for the Bond role, Aaron Taylor-Johnson. While the odds on the Golden Globe winner may have lengthened, she remains odds-on to replace Daniel Craig. Other names being mentioned include Callum Turner, Henry Cavill and Theo James.
Outside chances are noted in the odds, with Jonathan Bailey's chances appearing to fade. As has Timothee Chalamet, who has drifted from a 25/1 shot to odds of 66/1.
Cal Gildart of Ladbrokes said: “While Anthony Boyle’s stature might not scream James Bond, Daniel Craig lowered the height bar while turning the conventional Bond look on its head. So who’s to rule out having a Double O 5’7”?”
The uncertainty over who will take on the role and don the iconic tuxedo as James Bond has been debated for four years since Daniel Craig last hung up his Walther PPK. The final film, No Time To Die, marked the 27th instalment in the legendary franchise. However, with fans waiting for the next, there continues been no word on the title of the next film or who will step into Bond's stylish shoes.

The character, which was originally created by Ian Fleming for his series of spy novels in 1953, was catapulted to global fame in the 1960s when it hit the silver screen. Ever since, a host of Hollywood heavyweights have portrayed the suave secret agent.
As well as Craig, the likes of Sean Connery, David Niven, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan have had the honour of taking on the role.
And while fans have certainly let their feelings be heard about who should portray Bond, frontrunner Taylor-Johnson played it coy when asked about his potential casting. When quizzed by a reporter at the premiere of his latest film about his next venture, the actor said: "I can't talk about it."
The next instalment of the spy franchise is yet to have an official release date. However, director Denis Villeneuve is slated to helm the project, with Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight writing the script.
It's predicted that any new movie will be released in 2028.
