Emmerdale wedding at risk as John Sugden's secrets finally exposed

John Sugden's secrets threaten to ruin his wedding to Aaron Dingle on , it's been revealed. The couple are preparing to exchange vows but a producer has teased that things might not go to plan for them on the soap opera.

John (played by Oliver Farnworth) and Aaron () have been planning their nuptials since getting engaged in March. There's speculation that the occasion could to the village, including after some fans in an episode last month.

Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw spoke to and other outlets recently about the upcoming wedding, teasing that there could be drama. It came during a on the show over the summer.

It has been revealed that John's secrets will weigh on him in the lead up to the event. Viewers have already discovered that he was of Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) and, in orchestrated situations, appears to have harmed others so that he can be their 'saviour' too.

And there's suspicion that to his ex-fiancé Aidan Moore now being in a coma. He's also part of the cover-up following the apparent death of Anthony Fox (Nicholas Day) and has refused to tell the others who are involved .

Speaking about what's to come for the character, Laura told us recently: "There's a wedding coming up, and that is Aaron and John." The producer added: "I've just signed off those episodes and they are very brilliant and very exciting."

She said: "John is full of trepidation heading into the wedding, worrying about what secrets might get exposed along the way. The wedding plays out across a whole week but as one day. We've got stylistic fun in there with some of John's nightmares."

Laura said: "We see potential things that might happen." She went on to tease that John's former fiancé Aidan could come out of his coma in time for the wedding, before hinting that Nate's body may also present a challenge for John.

She shared: "We've also got Aidan in a coma and I can tell you he's absolutely not gonna be in that coma forever. So is he gonna wake up? If he does, what secrets can he come back with? Is he gonna walk in and spoil the wedding?"

Laura added: "We know Nate's body is still in that lake and again, I can reveal that Nate is not gonna stay in that lake forever. So when John finds out the lake is being dredged and he knows the body is gonna come up, will he make it to his vows? Is he gonna be arrested?"

She shared: "It's all going on and it's gonna be good, with Nate and Aidan both threatening to ruin the day for John and putting everything with Aaron at risk, what lengths is John gonna be pushed to to avoid that happening?"
