Melanie Blatt was left in tears during an interview on as she opened up about her time on Celebrity Race Across the World with her mum Helene. The All Saints singer competed on the show back in 2023 alongside her mum Helene, with the pair coming in third place.
Mel became emotional during her interview on as she was shown a clip from her time on the show where her mum spoke about the star's battle with scoliosis. "Mum doesn't cry, we don't have those moments. We're quite a bullish family so you're making me cry just seeing it again," she told hosts and Richard Madeley.
She went on to reveal that Helene was currently recovering following a major operation. "She's also literally in recovery from having some valves put into her heart, it's her first big thing so she's at home. Hi mum I love you!," she said.

Speaking about her time on Celebrity Race Across the World, Mel said: "It was really emotional - it wasn't always fun but I'm so pleased that I got to spend a month travelling around with mum."
Mel and Helene took part on the show alongside McFly's Harry Judd and his mum Emma, GMB presenter Alex Beresford and his dad Noel and former racing driver Billy Monger with his sister Bonny.
Mel stopped by ITV's GMB to chat about her latest career change, with the singer starting her own burger business at the Londesborough pub in London.

"Life is full of enough failure – you don’t need to add extra failures to your natural failings!” she said. “I always have good intentions going into a new year: ‘I’d like to accomplish this,’ etc. But I’ve learnt not to be too hard on myself now.
“Plus it’s the worst time to make a big change. You’ve just stuffed your face for two weeks and now it’s freezing cold. You don’t want to go outside anyway so it’s not the time to stop eating chocolate. Just carry on for a bit longer, at least until the sun comes out again. Be kind to yourself!”
