The Thane Traffic Police have issued a notification regarding traffic movements on Ghodbunder Road. These movements will be affected due to scheduled road repair work commencing on Saturday, April 26, and concluding on Tuesday, April 29, according to officials.
The road repair work on Thane-Ghodbunder Road, State Highway No. 84, from the Gaimukh Ghat section to Thane Ghodbunder Road, will be carried out from April 26 (Saturday) to April 29 (Tuesday).
Access for heavy vehicles traveling to Ghodbunder Road from Thane and Mumbai will be closed at the Y Junction and Kapurbawadi Junction. As an alternative route, heavy vehicles can reach their destinations from the Y Junction and Kapurbawadi via Kharegaon, Mankoli, and Anjurphata.
Vehicles heading to Ghodbunder Road from Mumbra and Kalwa will not be able to access the Kharegaon Toll Plaza. As another option, heavy vehicles traveling to Ghodbunder from Mumbra or Kalwa should take the route via Kharegaon Toll Plaza, Mankoli, and Anjurphata.
Heavy vehicles coming from Gujarat via Ghodbunder Road will be barred from entering at Chinchoti Naka and can reach their destinations through Kaman, Anjurphata, Mankoli, and Bhiwandi.
The traffic police have stated that this notification regarding traffic restrictions will not apply to essential services such as fire brigade vehicles, police vehicles, ambulances, green corridors, oxygen gas carriers, and vehicles transporting essential commodities.
They emphasized that these measures are essential to ensure smooth and uninterrupted traffic flow for the convenience of the general public and to avoid congestion in the affected area.
