Actress Shanthi Priya, known for her work in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu cinema, has unveiled a bold new look that's turning heads and sparking conversations. The actress recently surprised her followers by shaving her head, embracing a bald look that goes far beyond aesthetics. In an industry where image often takes center stage, Shanthi’s transformation is not just about style, it's a powerful personal statement.

Shanthi shared several pictures, flaunting her bold look on Instagram on Thursday (April 10).

In the photos, she is seen wearing an oversized brown blazer, but it wasn't just a fashion choice, it was a piece of her heart. In the caption, she revealed that the blazer once belonged to her late husband.

Shanthi wrote, "I recently went bald and my experience has been quite something. As women, we often set limitations in life, go by the rules and even keep ourselves caged. With this transformation, I have set myself free, free from limitations and intending to break the beauty standards that the world has set upon us and I do it with a lot of courage and faith in my heart."

The 55-year-old actress added, "Today, I also carry the memory of my late husband close, in his blazer that still holds his warmth. Sending power and love to all the women out there."

Minutes after she shared the pictures, fans and several celebrities praised her look and flooded the comments section with heart emoticons.

In an interview with ETimes, Shanthi revealed whether she feared the implications of her bold move, and said, "I had my doubts. In this industry, there’s often an expectation for heroines to look glamorous, flawless, with long, flowing hair. So yes, I did wonder, ‘Will this affect the roles I get? Will people see me differently?’ But then I asked myself, ‘Am I going to let fear dictate my choices?’ Going bald was my way of saying that I’m not here to fit into a mould; I’m here to break it on my own terms."

She added, "This is not a rebellious move."

Meanwhile, on the work front, the actress was last seen in the Tamil film Bad Girl. She has not announced any of her upcoming projects yet.

In the 1990s, she starred in Bollywood films like Ikke Pe Ikka, Meherbaan, Veerta, Phool Aur Angaar, Aandha Intaquam, Mere Sajana Saath Nibhana and Saugandh among others.
