Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi wrote to Telangana and Himachal Pradesh chief ministers urging them to enact Rohith Vemula Act to end discrimination in educational institutions against students from marginalised communities.
Days after he wrote to Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah, Gandhi wrote to CMs of two Congress-ruled states - Telangana CM Revanth Reddy and Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu - to nudge them to enact the legislation which was an election promise of the party.
In his letter, Gandhi emphasised the importance of enacting the legislation as a tribute to Rohith Vemula's memory and as a step toward ensuring justice and protection for students from marginalised communities.
