The Controller General of Communications Accounts (CGCA), the pension branch of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), has launched a month-long campaign to provide support to retired employees for digital life certificates. Digital Life Certificates (DLCs) will help retired employees complete online verification instead of having to visit the office every year.
Vandana Gupta, Controller General of Communications Accounts, stated, "As part of the nationwide Digital Life Certificate Campaign 4.0 in November 2025, officers from the CGCA office, through the Controller of Communications Accounts, will conduct 320 dedicated camps across 171 cities. This represents a 42% increase in the number of camps compared to last year. We are ensuring that every pensioner receives comprehensive support and achieve the target of 100% submission of digital life certificates."
The campaign is an initiative led by the Department of Pension and Pensioners and includes collaborations with the Controller General of Communication Accounts (CGCA), Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA), 19 pension disbursing banks, India Post Payments Bank (IPPB), Pensioners Welfare Associations (PWAs), Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), and the Ministry of Electronics and IT. The campaign specifically targets the 22,300 pensioners whose digital life certificates are due to expire in November 2025.
