Hearts are breaking worldwide as a video has circulated showing a mourning attempting to dig up his owner during his burial. The loyal best friend named Crispín was left after his owner, Jacinto, died from a long-term illness.
The late owner's cousin spoke of how the pooch was consistently by Jacinto's side throughout his health ordeal, never leaving his bedside even on the day of his death. However, when his owner was buried, the dog made a show of his , unable to understand why Jacinto's body was being placed into the ground.
A clip has gone viral of the pup's desperate attempt to 'save' his friend, gaining 5.4 million views on . The video shows cemetery workers beginning to seal the coffin in place with cement slabs.

Confused, the dog suddenly leaped onto the slabs and searched for his pal. He was seen sniffing the concrete for signs of Jacinto and trying to stare through the slabs to the coffin below.

The video has gained over 268,000 likes and 15,000 comments, all of which share their love for the dog's heart-warming misunderstanding. A user named Canela wrote that the dog "just wants to smell him one last time".
