Former Love Island stars and have set rumours swirling about getting back together, with fans thinking the couple are back on track. But it's not come without speculation that their alleged rekindling is a 'set up' ahead of the release of the second part of Molly Mae's documentary.
After the first instalment aired, fans were convinced the entrepreneur and influencer was already back with Tommy, who she met on the dating show in 2019. But after fiercely denying any sort of reconciliation, and as the date for the second part of the '' documentary draws closer, the couple has been spotted together more frequently.
Molly-Mae shared an update for the hotly-anticipated release date on and said: "Season 1 WRAPPED!!! See you on May 9th for our next three episodes of Molly-Mae: Behind it all." But is it all just a set-up? While the pair have denied any sort of PR stunt around their breakup, we chat with PR and branding expert Chad Teixeira about his thoughts.

The pair met in 2019, welcomed their daughter Bambi in 2023 and were engaged six months later before splitting up in August last year. In an , the boxer blamed his dependency on alcohol after sustaining a injury for their split, and vehemently denied ever cheating on Molly. He slammed rumours of the huge
But the pair have now been spotted numerous times since their split, even rumoured to have been kissing on New Year's Eve, and removal vans were spotted outside Tommy's home. They were also on a family holiday in Dubai and spent Mother's Day together - despite arriving separately. It raises the question of whether it's all strategic, giving these little hints to fans, or are they just naturally working things out?
But the biggest clue was when the boxer took to his Instagram Stories on Sunday night to share a photo of Molly-Mae cuddling Bambi and voiced his gratitude to her. He wrote: "Happy Mother's Day, thank you for being the best mummy I could've asked for our girl" with a heart emoji.
The post, showing Molly-Mae smiling at the camera with Bambi in her lap, is the first snap of her on Tommy's socials since their split, despite the pair recently returning from holiday together. While Chad doesn't think it's staged, he told : "The mystery around Tommy and Molly Mae is one that never seems to die down, and fans will always want to know about the ins and outs of their lives. Their relationship was born in the public eye, we've watched it grow and we were there to witness to the break up and public statement that they'd ended their relationship last year."

The expert continued: "However being this public is an added difficulty for them, because whilst a normal couple would have the privacy to work on issues, see if they can overcome barriers and differences, Molly Mae and Tommy don't have that privilege."
But in terms of 'staging' their breakup, Chad said: "While there does always seem to be an element of organisation and strategic PR for Molly Mae and Tommy, the likelihood is that their recent appearances have just seen them slowly working back towards being together. I don't think there is a big PR play happening here, and instead it's more a case of trying to keep something back while they work things out for themselves."
Chad also thinks once they are 'officially' back together, fans will see more of a "combined" presence on social media - and will feature on each other's channels and in the background of videos. He concluded: "Yet for now I think they're keeping their distance for self preservation more than a strategic PR move to build hype for the new documentary series."
Previously, the expert highlighted that it's understandable that there is speculation around it being a PR stunt, as he told the it was down to the "calculated nature of social media storytelling today." He said: "High-profile couples often face scrutiny over the authenticity of their personal lives when their relationship developments align so conveniently with professional projects."
When the pair were seen together on New Year's Eve, Chad said it could "fuel scepticism, especially with the documentary split into two parts, which could be seen as leaving room to build anticipation for a reunion storyline."
Molly-Mae has arguably managed to build her brand on relatability and authenticity, so if her loyal fans perceive her relationship as being leveraged for publicity, Chad said it could potentially "erode some of that trust" but noted: "Given her strong track record of transparency, she may still be able to control the narrative by addressing concerns head-on and ensuring her audience feels genuinely informed rather than manipulated."
The PR expert said Molly and Tommy's handling of the situation will determine whether fans will see it as a calculated PR move or just a natural evolution of a high-profile relationship. "If they continue to share their journey in a way that feels sincere and not overly orchestrated, they may avoid significant backlash. However, if the perception grows that their relationship updates are primarily for media attention, it could lead to disillusionment among their core supporters," he concluded.
The next three episodes in season one of Molly-Mae: Behind It All will be airing on Prime Video on May 9.
