Emmerdale's Aaron Dingle in grave danger as John Sugden's true motive finally revealed

will air some special flashback scenes next week as we finally learn the real truth about John Sugden. John arrived in the village a few months ago, the half-brother of Victoria Sugden.

The enigmatic character - who is played by former star Oliver Farnworth - has been hiding a big secret from his now fiancé Aaron Dingle and the rest of the village. With an army background, John kept quite quiet about his past - but it is clear that he is hiding some things about his past and himself that even his husband-to-be doesn't know.

In some special flashback scenes next week, viewers will learn the truth about John Sugden - and with a wedding on the cards, will Aaron finally get to know who the man he is committing to really is?

producer, Laura Shaw, said: "Since enigmatic and inscrutable John Sugden arrived on our screens last summer, he's managed to hide some pretty big secrets from his family and friends. As his clandestine acts are revealed, the audience has an opportunity to really get inside John's mind and to finally understand exactly what this mysterious character is really about."

It was clear John was keeping something from those nearest to him when Victoria found a dog tag with the name Aidan Moore on it. John then explained that he had lost Aidan during his time serving.

"I tried my best to save him. I told him I could but I was lying, I had to. I could see the fear in his eyes. I held his hand as he slowly slipped away. Aidan thought I could save him and I let him down. I can never forgive myself for that," he said.

However, fans have been speculating whether or not that might be true. John helped to dispose of Anthony's body after Ruby killed her father. John had helped believing Aaron was the one who landed the fatal blow.

John's ability to help with the body had left fans speculating that it might be something he had done before, but is that the case? The discovery of Nate's body has also thrown up speculation John might somehow be involved too - but is that true?
