Jodhpur: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered an FIR against an office superintendent of Indian Railways based in Jodhpur for allegedly colluding with a parking contractor at Raika Bagh railway station to cause the Railways a loss of Rs 21 lakh.
The fraud allegedly committed by Manila Chauhan, office superintendent of the commercial general branch, was uncovered during an internal audit, after which Jodhpur railway division's senior DCM, Vikas Kheda, filed a complaint with CBI and suspended her.
Sources said the Railways had awarded the parking contract to Shri Aarohi Enterprises for Rs 28 lakh. As part of the license fee, the firm submitted demand drafts (DDs) of Rs 21 lakh. Chauhan allegedly colluded with the firm and returned the DDs to the contractor by using forged receipts. tnn
